Tonight's highlight was a grain free shnitzel! Our own pork dusted with besan flour, dipped in egg & crumbed in LSA! Fried in lard. Awesome.
I did break & have a glass of bubbly to celebrate the news that we will be taking over the farm with a loan arrangement from my fiance's father. Happy days :-)

Day Four - Meggs
Day Four:
Ok, well I guess the listing of all the amazing food we have been enjoying is kinda hard now cause I have let it go for two days before sitting down again to journal, but here goes...
Day Three
Breakfast- Scrambled eggs with home-made bacon, wilted spinach & yoghurt + dukkah
Lunch - ??
Dinner - Pork curry on steamed cabbage with yoghurt
Dessert - A few squares of dark chocolate shared with friends for dinner
Day Four
Breakfast - 'Socca Pizza' - made with besan flour & water - soaked overnight & topped with sage roasted pumpkin, garlic infused olive oil & crumbled fetta
Lunch - Coconut curry soup with homegrown veg & made with chicken curry broth
Dinner - Braised ox tail, osso buco & pork ribs in broth with white wine, leeks & thyme
Each day I start with warm water & lemon juice. Snacks are roasted almonds.
I seem to be over the most horrific coffee withdrawals.
My legs are aching like mad though, I resorted to having an Epsom Salts bath yesterday before the dinner guests arrived which gave short relief. I am going to have a go at making my own magnesium body butter & see if that helps.
My sleepy baby is now a very, very awake baby. She seems to have grown over the past few days & is not having her usual 3 hour naps! I think she may be having caffeine withdrawals too. :-(
I am not as crazy hungry as I used to be & I have slowed right down while I am eating my meal, which I used to scoff & not really savour.
My head is clear though & I am looking forward to the gradual improvement now we are through the worst of the detox process!

Day Two - Meggs
After a little hiccup ( I forgot the coffee restrictions!) yesterday, I am fully underway today!
...Yesterday's breakfast was daunting; sausage, bacon, egg, yoghurt & dukkah with greens - but delicious!
WWOOFer approved too!
Lunch was leftover beef casserole with fresh greens, yoghurt & a mild curry dukkah - just for something different!
Tea - BBQ pork chops, carrots baked in garlic infused olive oil & lemon thyme, steamed broad beans & greens.
I had a whole milk chai before bed to satisfy my chocolate cravings...
... Today started with lemon & ginger slices instead of coffee... breakfast; crispy home-made bacon with leftover baked carrots, fresh crunchy parsley, yoghurt & dukkah. (Not bad for a market day!) I would normally just stuff a piece of toast in before leaving or not eat & then eat through the whole market - starting with nice buns, moving on to a samosa then some yum cha... ;-)
Lunch; snowpeas & hummous (bought at the market) then some leftover Burmese Pork (pork slow cooked with ginger, garlic & turmeric) this is a really simple dish & so tasty even cold!
Dinner; Michael is just preparing now, mussels cooked in a white wine sauce (all alcohol cooked off!) with garlic, lemon & chilli served on a bed of Robbie's bok choy with some of his asparagus, our broad beans & Spring Creek cauliflower.
The coffee withdrawals today were quite excruciating. I think I am over the worst of it & have a better understanding of Viv's migraine days now! It was so hard to talk to people. Anyways, let's see how we go in the morning. An afternoon nap helped.
Look forward to hearing from you.
I will post some pics once I have worked out my technical difficulties with these computers!
